Plantation Walk

Take a guided tour of the 225 acre working coffee and spice plantation on foot. Learn first-hand the difference between an Arabica and Robusta, discover how the Malabar blend got ‘monsooned’, and explore the spice scented pathways of Sandalkad Estate to slip into the spirit of the land.

A five-minute drive from the resorts brings you to the family-run coffee plantation – Sandalkad Estate, that has a legacy of over 170 years , passing through seven generations.

Certified by Rain forest, UTZ and 4C, plantation walks are organized here with an experienced naturalist to experience the culture of growing coffee , pepper, cardamom, vanilla and oranges in an eco- friendly setting. Apart from this witness home grown trees (Rosewood, Silver Oak, Red cider, Jackfruit, etcetera) and different species of birds.


Coffee Roasting

Experience the in house Probat coffee roaster from Germany and understand the nuances of different types of coffee roasting.

Roasting coffee transforms the chemical and physical properties of green coffee beans into roasted coffee products.

The roasting process is what produces the characteristic flavours of coffee by causing the green coffee beans to change in taste.
